Whilst working with the Holdens’ team we were invited to pitch for the rebrand of Manchester Metropolitan University Students’ Union. After being selected for the project we worked closely with the staff and key stakeholders to create the brand and graphic language that would be suitable for its newly built Union building, arming them with a tool kit that could roll out and be used be many hands.
The concept was to create a dynamic brand that everyone could connect with. The ‘smiley’ as it became affectionately know is a mechanism that is simple, human and versatile. The graphic palette that surrounds the brand identity continues to explore human expression, something that we felt really connected with what the Union was all about.
The success of the rebrand lead to us creating the environmental graphics and way finding for the building.
