I was invited in to lead the brand project at Flow on developing a brand identity that truly connected the Zazuu’s audience. Zazuu was a fintech marketplace for cross-border payment networks in Africa.
Through a collaborative and exploratory process we unified the brand by creating a bespoke suite of illustrations and patterns.
These patterns drew reference from the traditional Ndebele Painted Houses of North Africa. This connection to community and belonging resonated with their core values and what we were trying to help facilitate. As a brand asset it was abstracted and extruded to give us more unique elements to use and explore.
The final deliverable was a detailed set of brand guidelines, including instructions on how to create and use the layer illustrative style.
